Years ago, Reliant Industrial Ovens decided that it was time to go “green” and revisit its policies and processes regarding packaging, equipment manufacturing, and other areas of the company’s overall procedures.
In 2011, this effort came to fruition with the kick-off of the “Green Aware Initiative”. Reliant has significantly overhauled the way it packages and crafts its equipment, including powder coating ovens and composite curing ovens, in a way that makes the entire process more eco-friendly.
One step was to overall reduce the amount of new packaging materials used by Reliant. Instead of using a high volume of wood materials, for example, Reliant now uses recyclable steel scrap as a way to cut down on the company’s environment impact. This change has the added benefit of reducing shipping costs by reducing the overall weight of the crates used to ship Reliant equipment. The end result is that four to five hundred pounds worth of wooden shipping material has been eliminated per typical project.
Our “Green Aware Initiative” has helped us transform the way we do business to not only reduce our environmental footprint, but to also create positive benefits for our customers. Moving forward. Reliant will continue to seek new and better ways to conduct its business and streamline its operations, with a constant eye on staying “green” and being environmentally responsible.
